Because damn it all if the 90s were not fantastic years for BMW. The cars are all mixed. It's a mega classdump.

Throw in some E30s, E31s, E24s, E28s, E38s, E9s, and a 2002, and you have everything I aspire to in life

Haha thanks. It was just a quick one I put together with some pics that had been sitting on my computer for too long. I'm going to check it now... it always seems like I miss them. The bait is, as always, much appreciated!

Can't argue at all there. Beautiful, comfortable, understated, fast, and a good handler.

Check this out. I just looked up some stats. The E34 was:
Wheelbase (108.7 in)
Length (185.8 in)
Width (68.9 in)
Height (55.6 in)
Curb weight (3,450 lb)
My car:
Length 2011– saloon: 180.4 in
Width 2011– Saloon: 71.5 in
Height 2008–2011 saloon: 57.0 in
Curb Weight Saloon: 1,605 kg (3,538 lb)
Look how close the dimensions and weight are! So basically I have a shorter E34 M5?

Yeah, without the Straight 6 or the sexy looks! (although the E90 sedan is sexy in it's own right)

It is for a few days. Then I start feathering the throttle cause I'm already have half a tank left and don't feel like stopping to fill up again X-D

Oh well that's just great to know! Fuel economy on the 911 can't be too bad, but on the M3 it must be truly awful.

I think the E34, which I say is the forgotten 5 series, has aged VERY well. It still looks relatively modern but at the same time, has a sense of historic class and presence to it.
The E36, take it or leave it, I think is the most bleh 3 series. I don't hate them, but I don't really get excited over them. Its what ever high school kid drives when their parents won't buy them a brand new 3 series. I see more e36 m3's owned by HS kids then any other M3. E30's are collectables and worth money, E46's are just still worth money, E36's are HS cruisers, and cheap track whores.
E32's I think just old and dated. It doesn't have that cool old presence like the e34, it just looks like an old BMW.

The 911 is the Prius of sports cars!
The Cayman is the version of the Prius that's even more efficient (is it the Prius-C?)
Porsches don't use gas. They run on magic fairy dust.

Saying the 911 is like the Prius of sports cars is like saying it's the most boring awful dull plain sports car ever. Your wording might offend 911 owners .......wait a second

01/29/2014 at 23:15 | 0 |
LOL
It really is though
The C7 probably beats its efficiency with the cylinder deactivation and 7th gear.
But the last gen 911 and Cayman were the most efficient sports cars for their power.
I can eek out over 300 miles on my 16 gallon tank if I mix in some highway driving. Not bad considering I have to do a lot of city driving. And I like to accelerate hard ;)

Wow 300 miles a tank! That's astounding. I'm sure accelerating hard is why you don't get 400 miles/tank.

Is it just me, or is a clean E36 one of the best looking cars to come out of BMW? I'm not sure if its the understated aggressive look, or just the clean lines, but damn. Too bad most of the ones on the road these days look like crap

I don't do it all the time. Just enough to make it worth it to use the car at all, haha
I think I once got 165 gallons out of the E90 tank. And it's the same size...

Did you see the Lambo I sent you earlier?

YES! It's going to be worth double that in a few years. Seeing as how the Vantage is 6+ years old, I'm sure a replacement is very close. I'm just worried about if they'll still offer the manual.
Manuél Ferrari
> Brian Silvestro
01/29/2014 at 23:33 | 0 |
If they take away the manual I will hire James Bond to kill them!
Haha I doubt the Balboni will be worth double in a few years. But maybe in 15 years.
I want the Balboni because 6MT. But I want that Ferrari 16M Spider because it would be 1 out of 499 (if none of the 499 died).
How could would it be to go to Ferrari shows in 30 years and bring the 16M???
If I can find a way to afford it I gotta do it. I should probably live at least 30 more years. Hopefully at least

I gotta make it happen!
I really like the idea of buying cool cars and keeping them until they are classics instead of buying classics. If a car is awesome it should be kept forever!

What car should I get! 4C? Fiesta ST?
Manuél Ferrari
> Brian Silvestro

For buying and holding long term I would pick something that might go up in value one day. The Alfa probably has a better chance of that. The Fiesta ST is too common to ever have serious appreciation.
Actually the answer is neither. Get your E34 M5! It will be worth a ton in 30 years!
