Have new wheels (VMR V701), Euro mirrors and clear side markers arrive tomorrow, and on the 10th I'll be getting Volkswagen Racing Sport Springs! I can't wait.
Next up, rear swaybar, Unitronic Stage 1, intake, and eventually AWE full turboback exhaust. HOORAY

mmmm the 701's look so good. I want a set for my R.
I'm always debating if I want to go any lower. If anything it would be VERY little...1/8-1/4 inch maybe, just to clean it up a little. In the snow I rock it with my stock ride height and have a damn blast.
Are the VW racing sport springs different than the ones that came on my R? If you know? I'm going to have to do some research myself now.

NoVa, the land of a million potholes and perpetual roadwork, and you wanna go lower lol

I'll be dropping about 1.25", give or take.
The VWR springs are the ones that come stock on the euro-spec R; they weren't offered in the US, according to the rep at APR I spoke to on the phone.

Your part number for a MK6 R would be: VWRPA016

I want it to look cleaner, haha. There's too much wheel well gap.

Haha, no worries. It may be the same part number, not sure - I'd give them a call. Super helpful guys, there.

Awesome. I have definitely been thinking springs over a full coilover set as I very much like not having to weave through the roads here. Norwalk, CT does it's best impression of Falujah in the winter time.

Haha, agreed. The roads here in NOVA are pretty wretched too, and coilovers just aren't worth the cost for me right now. I'm planning on trading in for the MK7 R anyway, so I don't want to put more than about $1250 into my car now.
