I followed a string of cars on Rt83 in PA for 5 miles ........we were led by somebody going about 15 miles an hour with their four-ways on straddling both lanes.
I can understand wanting to travel at a safe speed. but there was barely any snow on the road.
I wanted a hood mounted Gatling gun......

I straddle the line when there's nobody on the road. Other than that you're a hat of ass.

When there's snow on the road, I usually just follow the tracks that have already been carved in, and a lot of times it's only the one track straddling the lanes, so I go with it.

St. Louis got about ONE inch of snow on the roads last night and everybody was driving like it was the end of the world. It took me over an hour to drive 14 miles to get to class. I hate being late, especially on the first day of classes for the semester.

I strattled the line today! There was no one coming at the time, and I hit a very slippery bit of snow going down a hill, and I nearly spun out. Luckily, the other lane was plowed, so I saved it pretty well in my opinion.
If there's no one else around, I think it's marginally acceptable (barely). If you're in an emergency situation, my mouth is shut.
I got stuck behind someone who obviously had four wheel drive and no snow tires, and didn't know what they were doing going up a hill. They kept starting to slip, slam on the brakes, etc. Over and over. I damn near had to stop and almost didn't make it up the hill because of them (my car is decent in snow, but not that great). There should be mandatory driving instruction for winter conditions here in the US. It's just sad. I would volunteer for it if it lowered insurance rates. Every year.

I guess I am spoiled...I was driving my wife's Blizzak equiped Outback. I have better traction then 90% of everyone out there when there is snow on the ground.
I don't have a lot of patience for drivers that don't know how to drive in bad weather.
