That's basically always his mood in just about every interview I've ever seen with him. He walks a fine line between "fun/snarky" and conceited/asshole (yet I didn't take issue with how he handled the latest controversial interview that's riled up so many).

I think he could have clarified a bit, but I get it, it becomes exhausting having to prove yourself and he's been on record saying he loves Pryor and Cosby and Rock. I think it's worth mentioning to him that his phrasing wasn't great but he shouldn't be shunned.
