I bet you could buy it for $1000. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I would buy it, slather bondo everywhere rusty, paint it flat black, strip the interior, swap in the drive train from a late 4rd gen 6-speed camaro and create one hell of a race car.

why a 3rd gen camaro? Why not a 4th gen, so it actually has... you know... power
and a 6spd

I'm with offroadkarter. As a former 3rd gen owner...you picked the wrong decade to grab an EFI motor from...
Best cheap bet is an iron block LS motor from a truck.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the fish faces... I shall edit that in.

Yeah... I forgot the 4th gens existed. The post has been edited.

Except:
Thats the Pontiac cousin
The 4th gen Camaro was UGLY and bloated. I'd take a slower one of those any day with room for good mods.

Great looking year for Firebirds. That would be a great low dollar project car exactly as you proposed.

Sadly the car is too rusty to be worth restoring, race car really is the best option.

The part that makes me curious is that you haven't posted this yet.

I'm not really an el camino guy... I can hear the mullet of the seller flapping in the wind from over here.

I was referring to his post, not the car in the link. He said he'd take the motor from a 3rd gen camaro
