Anyone have one? Thoughts? Good family hauler/fun car for dad? They look good on paper, wondering how they drive...

Surprisingly cramped in the back. Driving? Dunno. Friend has one and likes it, but he's resolutely single.

I tried one a few years ago. Handling was pretty decent, motor above average, nice quality interior. The manual shifting on the automatic was...less than ideal. Overall though it's pretty cramped inside, particularly the back seat. That would probably rule it out for family hauler duty.

Yup, back seat is a tad small but an underrated car all around. I miss working for Lexus. They go through front tires though (as do all sports sedans). Quick car, handles well, quality product (duh), and a great successor to the awesome IS300. I was a Lexus master tech from 06-10. Any questions let me know buddy :]

I should add that I have one kid, 17 months old so rear seat room is not terribly important...

Awesome, thanks for the great info. I really want an IS-F, but when the time comes if I can't find one that I can afford a 350 is next on my list.

Sweet dude, good luck. When the IS-F came out, I was the tech assigned to them (since I was all hyped about it and warranty doesn't pay that much, the old guy didn't want none of that learning curve BS). I loved the IS-F. I had techs from all over calling my dealer asking for me on how I solved some of those initial new model issues. Got credited for many of the early service bulletins. The IS-F is awesome but I left Lexus in 2010, in 2012 they made a bunch of suspension revisions they changed the performance significantly (sway bars, bushings, diff, etc.)

I don't own one, but I drove one for a few months. Its a tricky thing those cars do, the interior seriously makes you feel like you're in a much much bigger car. But the steering does feel a little numb. Its a heavy car so expect it to be slug around, but that being said I drove the 250 version which has a smaller engine (I4 vs v6 I believe). They look nice, and ride comfortable. Don't have any input for the hauling question.

If one fits in the back of my wife's Kia Soul I am guessing the car seat will fit in the IS350....or at least I hope it would.

Not so sure about that. The Soul has 8.6" more rear leg room than the IS.

In my experience, for a back seat to be at least decently useful you need like 36" of leg room in the specs.
