This is the new TLX. Nice wheels, actually the whole thing isn't too bad. Maybe I'm just finally getting used to Acura's design language. Better pictures to come.

Well, bless them for (foolishly) thinking the beak was ever a good idea. Stubbornness is what we want out of our automative companies after all.

Huge improvement but I still hate the chrome bar grille

It looks like they toned down the Acura beak a little at least. Overall I like it.

It says "larger ILX" to me. That's not a bad thing, the ILX is likely the best looking on in the lineup. At least to my eyes.

That fucking chrome beak! It looks worse in person than in the pictures.

At least it doesn't look like a doorstop anymore. It's better than the outgoing TL and TSX, that's for sure.
Is it pretty, though? No. Though I'll reserve judgment on its design until I see more, and clearer, pics.

Make one 330+hp, AWD and a manual and it's on the list of new cars to buy.

I like it since they scaled it down.

Not with the low sales volumes of the outgoing models.

According to this , the TLX is going to have the same wheelbase as the TL but 4" shorter overall. So just looking at length:
ILX - 179"
TSX - 185"
TLX - 190"
TL - 194"
RLX - 196"
*Accord - 191"
I do think going to ILX, TLX & RLX simplifies the lineup. There was no need to have 4 Acura sedans.
I still don't know if this solves the problem of the RLX being not enough of a step up from the TL (and now TLX).

I really like how this car looks, especially the wheels which look similar to my favorite wheels on the RS7.
Also I like how since the introduction of the beak, they've just been making it smaller and then pretty much ask, "Does it look okay now?"

The TLX's upscale powertrain option will be a direct-injected 3.5-liter V6 with cylinder deactivation, paired with a new nine-speed automatic.
Drive. ALLLLL the gears.

1) You can't get the DCT with with V6 and AWD. If I were in the market for this, that's the combo I'd want...
2) Bloody hell, it's the same 3.5 SOHC Honda's been making since Return of the King stopped filming. I know we're never gettting a V8 out of this company but damn, can you give me something under the hood of my Acura I wouldn't get from the Hondas sitting across the lot?

No, the beak still doesn't look OK.

I think if it was any more fugly, the beak would turn you to stone.

FUGLY beak again!?!?
No high MPG hybrid like the accord
No folding mirrors
No dual exhaust (not terribly important)
No way. After being a huge fan since my 2G TL and loving the 3G TL and hoping the butt ugly 4G was just a fluke, I'm ready to move on. Too bad Acura played it so poorly.

If that is scaled down, did they tow the original beak behind the vehicle?

Its a DCT with a torque converter.
Did someone at Honda forget what a DCT is?
They've, if I am understanding it right, have made a 8 speed version of the automatics that Mazda now uses and the non-DCT 7 speed MCT that Mercedes uses. It isn't a DCT at all.
