Great news, another badge engineered crossover. Ok, blurrycam, I know. But looks like they have the left side taillights complete. The right side were Bondo'd in trailer lights. Concept shot below for comparison.

sigh. Lincoln is the least exciting manufacturer out of them all in my oppinion. I only look at them to see if they can make anything uglier than current/previous models.

I keep hoping for a Cadillac-type turnaround. There's a lot of history with the name and it's a shame to see the half-assed fascia and rebadge jobs.

I dunno, Lincoln still produces vehicles that compare well against Lexus and Acura, and definitely are the better-looking of the three brands, at least IMHO. In contrast, there are a few other forgettable brands out there that are worse off: Mitsubishi seems to be living on borrowed time for now, the new Mirage is seemingly uncompetitive, the Outlander, while well-updated, fails to excite, the I-MIEV is grossly overpriced, and the Lancer, while still good-looking, is very old as designs go, but is more appealing to me than a corolla or civic. Smart seems to be worse off, with its boring and odd model, while unique, feels grossly out-of-date and only survives due to its small size, practical only for highly-congested metropolises. Scion's also not doing too well, its image saved only by the "Toyobaru" FRS86BRZFT. Mini is a joke, and while they're doing OK, I'd rather have Suzuki survive and bring over the Swift and update the SX4 and Vitaras than have Mini.

There's a rather thick line between badge engineering and platform sharing.

I quite agree. I was extremely excited by the 2002 Continental Concept, since it seemed to indicate Lincoln was going to develop a glut of RWD, luxury-customer focused models. Instead we got the Aviator, a rebadged Explorer, and the only RWD model in the lineup is the past-due Navigator.
They could have and should have beat Chrysler and Cadillac to the RWD game, and instead they're stubbornly staying with hand-me-down platforms from Ford. I understand that Ford has a budget to stick to, and it's hard to justify a multi-million dollar investment in a division that's not very profitable. That said, I think that, internally, Lincoln gets it, like with this , this , this , this , this , and this , but they're handicapped by what Ford will let them do. I'm hoping that Ford does use the new 2015 Mustang as a new platform to underpin most of Lincoln's lineup (modified, of course), and perhaps brings some of the goodies that the Australians and Europeans get that we don't as Lincolns (Falcon and S-Max, perhaps? I say S-Max because it could be sold to older folks with less inclination to sitting down into a car or having to clamber up into an SUV/crossover)

Agreed they are more than sticker and tape jobs, but compared to the full of life Cadillac line, come on.
IMHO Lincoln needs to be less Buick, more Caddy if they want to compete. I'm never going to be a product planner, but putting a leather couch and an espresso maker in the dealership does not make me want to spend $10k more for a Fusion or Edge.
