Jesus. It's worth the money in parts, but just barely. I doubt it will ever run again though, the engines weren't desirable for saving and the body looks battered to hell.

That was beautiful. Now off to craig's list to find one.

Get a later FI 280Z and do a bumper swap with a 240z. Slightly more power, and significantly more reliability than a 240z and half the cost.

Did not watch. But RBs... Why bother? Just pump aboot 3 hundy through a regular 2.8 and you'll be happier than a Fart in an open field.

But....but....carb'd 4-cylinders sound so much better....

No Z came with 4 cylinders. You're thinking of the Carbureted L24, L26, or L28.
The Carbs are nice, but the FI versions mechanical fuel injection are a lot more reliable, and make about 95% of the power of a high performance carb, but don't ever need to be adjusted and get much better mpg.

Because the L28 breaks in half at around 400HP, and costs just as much to get to that point.
A drop-in 300HP L28 costs $20,000 and is barely streetable, just so you know.

No it aren't.

Elaborate? I should have said 300HP N/A motor, which requires something from Rebello or OS Giken.
The cheapest way that I can see you can get 300HP out of an L28 is with an L28ET swap with a forged rotating assembly, custom-ground cam, and enough boost to make one worry about its long-term reliability. You're talking about doubling the output of a non-crossflow engine.
But if you want something over 400HP, the RB is about the best choice unless you want to swap in a non-nissan engine, or a non-straight six.

Sigh.. Yes, those idyllic high school days. My buddy got hold of a rough one, broke, fixed, had rebuilt, put a 280 motor in.. good times.
Exceedingly complex to maintain that motor, I'd have to sacrifice authenticity for a bit. I also note that the listing has been on for a month, even in this weather, that means even parts folks have been like, nah, too rich for me. Sad panda.
An ideal strange world would be to acquire said Z, ship it to Japan and show up at That Guy's place, begging for apprenticeship.

It was late, I apologize. Yes I was referring to the L24 and 26. I've actually never owned a carbureted car myself, so I would probably pull my hair out trying to tune it versus the good 'ole FI that I'm use to. I do love the sound of a carb'd motor versus FI, but especially with the drastic weather changes we have here I'd be smart to stay away.

Because RBs are win , that's why.

YES.

Your problem is you know too much. Just turbo that l28 as you suggested and if it eventually blows up... Get another. The rb never sounds as good ;)

Gotta love the S30. I think after I finish this one as my DD I want to build one around a Rebello 3.0 engine.
