Kia completely stole the thunder/excitement I had about the C7.R and Z06. All I can think about is Kia's bad resale value once (if) they build it.

I dunno...I just think it looks alright. I'm freaking over the Toyota more.

Only difference is I can see this car being closer to production spec than the FT-1

That is true I guess. But I keep thinking of the specs of this thing, and in my head they are impressive, and I really want to love this, but my heart isn't lusting over it for some reason. I do like the Genesis Coupe, so if this goes into production I'll probably end up loving it once I sit in one.

I don't really like the hitch in the roofline. Sorta wish it was a little more direct. I'm also a little wary of a kia with a 2.0L engine boosted to 300hp. My Focus ST has a 2.0L engine and it took 20lbs of boost to get it to 252HP. Right now I'm guardedly optimistic, I hope they can pull it off.

If the FT*86 concepts are any indication, the FT-1 might not be that far off.

The production engine would probably be the same 270 hp turbo from the Genesis and Sonata.

The resale value would be better if the 10-year warranty was transferable.

I think I'd get over my skewed perception hyundai/kia to buy this car, especially if it had the liftback. It might need an exhaust though, historically hyundai/kia sound a little muted from the factory for my taste.

So this is much bigger than a BRZ you think?

Can't be much bigger

Meh. I'm not really digging the styling. The c-pillar is pretty chunky, and a lot of the edgyness wouldn't survive to production.
Those lights, that nose, the lock box in the back.

This car absolutely stole the show IMO. Hopefully Kia sees what it's doing and fast tracks it for production

The Kia is about the same size as the BRZ. A few inches longer, but lower and wider

I got sort of excited until I read this line:
"the GT4 Stinger provides a possible and highly provocative glimpse into Kia’s future"
T he auto industry is the only one I can think of that gets away with creating one off concept items to tease consumers, and never really translate it to anything.
Burger king should release those really nice photos of some excellent sandwich. Then they will say "nah bro, we aren't making this sandwich for you."

Which "thing"? I think the Toyota is atrocious compared to this Kia.

The FT-1. I think thats a much nicer proposition to this. But that is based entirely on the front end. If the nose on the Kia was.... for want of a better expression, more conventional, I'd be with you, but for me, all of the value, speed and handling in the world couldn't make up for those headlights.
This is also ignoring performance, handling, price points etc. of the final cars, and ignoring they are concepts, but based soley off the looks, I'd take the Toyota every day over this.
