I was looking back at my post on the SRT Viper's new !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! color and realized that I'd forgotten about how Chrysler hyped up the hardtop version as being first to go on sale. Can I take that to imply that a roadster version is in the pipeline?

Last I heard they said it was "a long way off" so I wouldn't expect anything until later this year.
EDIT: Found the 11 month-old article .

People have to buy the thing first.

Well, is it weird that i prefer the coupe version of the Viper?
Viper is one of the few car in my book that looks a bit weird without roof, just like the Evo.

It's not weird - I've just been wondering when we'll get to see it.
Which Evo are you referring to? The Lancer?

True. I figure that introducing a version with the ZF 8-speed would help sell more Vipers, but a lot of people would consider that to be sacrilege.

Yep.
Imagine an Evo IX with no roof. It's akward.
I think they're saving the roofless viper as a panic button, when things didn't go well..

Well, as far as I know, every generation of the Viper has had a roofless variant, so I just expect one. I agree that an Evo IX with no roof would be awkward, but a roofless Evo isn't something I'd have any reason to expect.
That doesn't stop some people from taking matters into their own hands and making roofless cars like this WRX STI, though.
