They are BMW 1M wheels
it looks like he has some style 37's for track events

The car sits a lot higher on a 1M. But yeah, I didn't realize just [i]how[/i] low profile the 1M wheels.

they are 19's, and this car came with... well US spec would be 14's I think, and euro spec is the 15.5 TRX's. They probably got 15" style 5's in the US also, but I think most low end bmw's of the era had the 14" "bottlecap" wheels
So yeah, 18's already look massive, 19's look redonkulous, but I think it looks sweet on this car.
