"472CID" (472CID)

So yesterday I wanted to see what Jalopnik as a whole thought of the X6M. About 10 people loved it, about 10 hated it, and few couldn't make up their damn minds. The general consensus seemed to be that it's batshit crazy and not a car than anyone actually would want to own.
So here's another car that gets argued both ways, the LFA. I'm not asking if the LFA is a good or bad car, rather does it deserve to command such a price? ..hmm I thought putting a poll in here would be easier oh well, choose!
Yes it's a fair price [starts droning on about carbon fiber and/or making engine noises]
No that's Ferrari/Lamborghini money for a Supra with a body kit.

NO.
I think the LFA is a good car, but for the money, I could get a better car (that being my opinion). I would say $150 - $200k would be an acceptable range for this, but not $300+

YES.
Because the interior is spectacular, and the glorious noise coming from those pipes alone is worth a million bucks.
This would be the first car I'd buy after I win the lottery.

Personally, if I had a car budget of $375k, no, you would not find an LFA on my list.

I love the LFA and believe that you are indeed getting $375,000 United States Dollars worth of car. Probably more, it's an engineering masterpiece.
Unless I was a multi-multimillionaire I don't see myself spending my own monies on one though. The offerings from Ferrari and Lamborghini indeed do it enough for me that I could save $100K and get something I would still really enjoy.
So the technical answer to your question is "yes" it is worth it. With an "*".

No. That's not to say it's bad, I love the car. But I'd love it more at less than $200,000

Yes. If I have that money to spend on the car (and the extra money for routine maintenance and what-nots) I would DEFINITELY buy it.
And is it just me, or is that a horrible angle to take a picture of that car from? It looks cross eyed and has a droopy face.

I'd say it can ask that price based on the fact that there are only 500 in existence. But as for the car itself? Make it a little cheaper and call it the Supra. Akio Toyoda, here's your Supra!

375k $ put it into Aventador and F12 region. And objectively it just can't match both in terms of power and "supercar" feeling. It should be a 458/SLS competitor. That's what my inner business studies student says.
But if you would ask me as the enthusiast I am: Yes. A thousand times yes. It is a great looking car with an awesome engineering story behind. And that sound. And the high reving engine. And the sound.

No.
Any technical superiority it may have will soon be eclipsed. No racing effort. No performance marque. It's only claim to fame is the extraordinary engineering effort it took to build it, but that will soon no longer be a high watermark. Just like an Aston Lagonda.

Also if I were the sort of person who bought that kind of car, I would absolutely buy it.

Sorry, but no.
As others have said, that's Ferrari F12 and Aventador money.
I'd rather have a McLaren 12C, even if I couldn't get the pile of money to make up the difference.
It's very cool though.

No...Half that, maybe. Yeah it's awesome, fast, technologically advanced, etc, etc...It's not any of that more than, say, an MP4-12C, which is available for much less.

Well considering it costs more than that to make it, it quite literally is a bargain at $375k...not to mention I'd pay that if I could without hesitation. Its a beautiful machine. Any other answer is wrong.

Well if you look it at it in pure economics it is, It sold out. I guess they could have charged more if they wanted. The amount of engineering that went into this super car is amazing. I'm sure it's as reliable as any Toyota/Lexus.
My personal opinion, It seems a little pricey, it's not the fastest car for the money but I pine for it. I would love to have this car, and if it was something that I could afford I would love to have one in my stable. It's worth it.

My personal vote is "no", but this is one of those "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" deals. While the car is a remarkable piece of engineering, it just doesn't do anything for me.

I also laugh at the people who say cut the price and call it a Supra. These are the same people who say "omg I want X and Y and if they would just build it I would totally buy it" but they never do. How exactly are you going to go from $375k down to something in the price range of a higher end Corvette, Viper, or GTR? By the time you cut costs that much, all the things they love about the LFA will be gone and it will probably be a totally different car.

Every expensive car I've ever driven, there's always a reminder of that price tag. Every time you go near the throttle or want to take a turn quickly, I'm reminded of what size repair bill I have waiting at the other side. In turn, I don't drive it hard because my pockets aren't that deep.
I'd much rather buy a $20,000 Cobra Kit Car and run the piss out of it.

Having been in one, yes. It's worth whatever it costs. The fact that it sold out and used cars sell for more than they cost new proves that anyway.
Also, it is NOT a Supra with a bodykit. Not even slightly. It's way more special than that.
