I had a lot of free time while I was at the shop today, and spent most of it on Autotrader.
2008 BMW 135i. 6MT and sport package (a useful sport package). Doesn't give much info, 64k miles for $15,590. Great deal, for sale at a Mitsubishi dealer so they probably don't know what they have. This has the N54 twin turbo engine, easily tuned to ridiculous power levels. You all hear horror stories about HPFP going out and other problematic things happening, but it isn't as bad as the forums make it seem, and the HPFP is warrantied for 10YR/100K I believe. I give this a major NP. Someone buy this so I don't go in debt driving/modding two bimmers.

If you're looking for $30k performance, this is the perfect car for you. Buy this, save the rest for maintenance/modifications. NP.

If I had a $30k budget I'd buy this, get a jb4, downpipes, LSD and pocket the remaining $10k. Maybe straight pipe it, these sound like exotics if you open up the exhaust.

I think the 1 series will go the way of the 1 Series M over the span of the next ten years.

Yeah, as soon as I need another car I'm buying a 1 series. They truly are the ultimate driving machine, It sounds cheesy but you just gotta drive one.

People who don't know cars (and BMW fanboys) look down on the 1 Series and call it a "girls car" or the "poor man's BMW." These claims are all baseless. They are amazing (and traditional) BMW's will real performance.

Yeah I HATE being a member of e90post sometimes.. I'd take a base 128i with a 6MT over a base model 328i with a slush box(which is what many E90 drivers own). The 1 series is a much better car than most people think, It's one of the last "traditional" BMW's. The short wheel base makes it a whole different animal than the E90. The only good thing about them being labeled as "girly" is that nice examples with a 6MT don't get bought up immediatly. That'll be changing soon though.

The 1 Series is BMW's best kept secret. 135i Coupe with a 6-speed and M Package + updated iDrive is the way to go. I've owned 3 though my previous job. (At BMW, changed cars every few weeks/months)

Excellent price, but you want the M Package, not the Sport Package.

I believe it actually does have the M-sport package. The wheels + rear diffuser are making me think it is at least

Funny that you say that, when I start my next car search the criteria are: updated idrive, 6MT, M-sport. I'm looking at 135i's, LCI E90 335i's (only if it's fully loaded, with all the options I want and the exact colors I want as I already have a E90 and would likely trade it if I were getting another sedan), or E92 335i's. If a stray 128i with the right options in the right color pops up it's definitely gonna be considered.

I thought the saying was CP new, NP CPO, CP used?

Perhaps. But I've owned 3 (used to work for BMW) and even had the exact same one as pictured. Stupid first gen automatic with the stupid shift paddle buttons things above the steering wheel. Also smelled of cigarette smoke and febreze. Best one was a 2012 135iM 6-speed Sapphire Black.

Haha, that's the way to go man! If you're buying your next car for the right reasons (fun, exciting, rare, reason to get up in the morning) then go for the 135i (although 128i is a peach as well). And while some of my best motoring memories have been made in a 335i Coupe with my dad, my loaner 335is Convertible, and a 335is Coupe of my ex's dad, I've got to vouch for the 1 Series as it's just more special. May just rebound too in value if you hold on to it long enough. Kind of like E30s. Who knows.
Let me know what you end up getting!
I was shopping for a 135i as well last month, but I ended up buying this last Saturday.
