Well the Infiniti is finally due for brakes. Back in September I pulled off the right driver side wheel and discovered the top clip on the caliper out of place and rubbing on the brake disc. I had enough pad left and let it be until I had time to fix it. Well last week the brakes started making a terrible grinding noise and metal shavings began appearing on the wheel. So I will take the opportunity to replace the rear pads and rotors and hopefully just turn the front rotors. I'll probably provide a few pics of the job once I get it done this week. Hope all goes well! I'm also hoping I can get it done on a day other than Tuesday, when it will be all of ten degrees outside.

Also, it's good to be able to post on Oppo again (even though I rarely post at all anyways). Chrome was acting up with kinja so I did a reinstall and it seems to be working well now.

If you hit metal to metal, you might as well buy rotors, too.

Definitely replacing rear rotors because of the clips grinding into them, but the front rotors have plenty of life left in them and I could probably go longer on the pads, but figure I'll just do it all at once.

I thought brakes were a simple purchase but god I was wrong. Trying to balance stopping power, bite, pedal feel, dust, noise, etc., makes it agonizing. My BMW's rear brakes were always squeaky and I'm tires of hearing it and my front rotors are starting to warp (really bad when braking while turning). I'll probably redo all the brakes and replace the front rotors. eBay has some cool vented and/or drilled rotor and pad sets. I don't know if they're the greatest, but they're cheap. I don't stomp on the brakes anyways and it's cheaper to buy the ebay rotor sets, save the pads as backup and buy good pads on tire rack or amazon.

I had Wagner quiet edge or something like that on a grand Cherokee and they were great. I'm not sure what's on my BMW, some Bosch euro pads blah blah blah.
