::sigh:: I wish I could afford to run the Seven at Mid-Ohio. Hell, I can't even afford to go to Nelson Ledges, which is 15 min from me.

that E46 M3 had wider tires that were stickier (Ventus R-S3 for me, NT-01 for him)

I'd have to try to join one of the clubs, PCA, BMWCCA, some Miata club. Apparently group rates are cheaper, because $140 per driver is a little too steep for a poorly-kept track, to someone that doesn't make much.

I got u... makes sense

Nelson is also a decrepit, run-down track which is very charming anyway

Yeah. I've been on it twice, back when I had my Mini Cooper S. Didn't have to pay either time, and I wouldn't have. Back then it was $125 a driver. Since then it's "been refinished" several times, which is just another way of saying "we patched 30% of the potholes with mixmatch asphalt", and now it's up to $140 a driver.

If they really wanted to make money, they need to actually refinish the track. The finish is atrocious. The second time I was there, it was raining. I didn't know until later, but one of the Mini's in the group before me went off the carousel, through about 100 feet of grass, and into the tire wall. I was being careful, as I had too much money invested in a DD to hoon, came to the carousel—which apparently has a completely different asphalt compound than the rest of the track—and found myself drifting around it at a 45-degree angle.

They need to change their charge for "Fun Days". $140 a person is pretty high, considering the average income around here. I can't afford that. My friends can't afford that. If they would change it to $140 per car, with a 4-driver max. Maybe even up it if its that bad. $35-50 a head is doable, and they'd have to turn people away.

The management has always been shoddy, and if their business model doesn't change, we may lose yet another landmark. They already lost "The Longest Day", which I was hoping to eventually enter.

I actually have both those tires on different rims. 265/35/18 R-S3s and 275/35/18 NT01s. Both are pretty amazing tires, but the NT01s definitely have a bit more grip.

Looked like fun!
