Of all the articles on Gawker, I wish the comments were open on this one:

I myself wasn't going to diss her... at least not too badly. I think it was a mistake for her to jump straight to divorce.
Having an affair is NOT the worst thing that can happen in a marriage. There are many worse things.
I think she should have at least asked him to forgive her and then at least try to see if counselling could save the marriage.
It's way less costly... both financially and emotionally.

Short of bodily harm, there's not much worse than cheating. It's the ultimate slap in the face and a show that you don't respect your partner, their effort, or the time they've put into you and your relationship.
Sincerely,
Someone who's been cheated on.

Are you married?

This is why I despise women at this point in my life. And I keep coming across things like this. Sheesh.

cheaters are scum.

It's a sponsored post, and I'm not even sure it's actually about the author's own story. Regardless, it felt like a giant cop-out. And yes, I am married, and it's sort of a shame that she still thought so little of her husband to not even consider the possibility that he might respond "well" to the situation.

Yep.

I can't say I agree with what she has done but what I will say is, easy over on Jezz. Being a Jalop and commenting over there is trouble. The banhammer was slammed on a few Jalops about a year ago for expressing themselves on Jezz.

Over on Groupthink there are multiple threads that are complaining about this post as well. It's a sponsored post, just ignore it.

It's an ad for a TV show. It is meant to provoke a reaction.

I thought this was a real thing. Like this chicks story? If so it is friday, but I'm still dumb.
EDIT: idiot status confirmed. I'm going to bed.

Hard to say, but I'm jaded, so I just assume that since the end is hawking a show, and the rest is kind of... well, lets say, heavily slanted, that this is likely either fiction, or a fictionalized account of something real, and is meant to provoke a reaction like it has.

Seriously, if she actually loved her husband it wouldn't have even been a thought. If she respected him at all she would have left him before the adultery.
Trying to justify all of that by saying her brain tricked her is total bullshit.

Different people have different values. I'd say cheating would be the end of a relationship but for moneh purposes I'd stay separated.

THIS!
(Saying this also as one who was cheated on and played for a fool for the better part of a year)
The only good to come from that situation was I finally moved on and met someone who is deserving of my fidelity.

Divorced.

I can think of another thing that I found to be much worse... have your partner take a break from reality, leave with the kids so that you come home from work one day to an empty house. In that empty house is a note on the kitchen counter where she's accusing you of things you didn't do.
I lived through that.
I would have preferred to be cheated on or her inflicting bodily harm on me.
At least with cheating or bodily harm, I would have known where my kids were.
The good news is things got better... though I'm divorced. But at least it was a no-legal-battle divorce.

I thought it was the real thing too. I like many was duped.

When I read this, I thought it was real and not some sponsored crap.
Oh well... we all get duped sometimes. At least it didn't cost me anything.
