The Alfa Romeo 8C is finally coming to the Hot Wheels lineup, after a long and undocumented license dispute which saw the car being dropped from the mainline in 2009 and the awesome Speed Machines line in 2010. Also, I'm glad Mattel is finally ironing out their license issues, whatever they were. We got several awesome BMWs in the last couple years (after a decade long hiatus), the Alfa Romeo 8C is looking great and rumor has it a 4C will follow it into the mainline eventually. All we need now is for Mattel to mend their relationship with Mercedes Benz, so they can re release one of my old favorites, the C Class DTM car.

But anyways, pictures of the Alfa, courtesy of the Lamley Group blog.

10/10 would collect, along with the EF Civic and the DB4 (?) coming out.

I'm waiting on a re-release of the Stratos, and maybe a Volvo wagon.

This one's supposed to show up later this year/early next year. It hasn't been spotted in the wild yet, and there are no pictures of it in the package, but this is pretty much the finished model.

No information on Volvos yet, but we'll have to wait and see on the Stratos... Hot Wheels already has a pretty badass Stratos on the lineup, but they haven't used it in ages, possibly for the same reason they haven't used the Maseratti Quattroporte and MC12 and the Alfa Romeo B.A.T.9, that is, license conflicts with Fiat.

I don't really know the details behind these licensing issues, only that Mattel has an exclusivity deal with Ferrari at this scale, and that might have bee nthe reason behind them being unable to make cars from the other Fiat group marques. All of those cars are above were issued until the mid-2000s then never again. The Alfa and Quatropporte only have had only one single issue so far and those can go for a pretty buck on ebay.
