For me it would be the late 80's, early 90's era McLaren cars. Because simple yet elegant livery, and Senna.

Early to mid 90s Ferraris. Partly because of the way they looked, partly because Prost drove them, partly due to the fact the engine is two Dino V6s, and finally the noise!

Engine as a stressed member. F1 never looked back.

1960s and '70s. Just because I saw the vintage F1 reunion at the 2000 Watkins Glen Vintage Grand Prix, and was standing in the paddock when all the Cosworth DFVs fired up at the same time, and there were Ferraris too including Gilles Villeneuve's . What a glorious noise that was! And yes the simple, elegant livery and designs. My favorite were the Tyrrell 003s of Stewart and Cevert; both cars were there. http://www.glenphotos.com/f1reunion/inde…

The V10 era for sure, either the mid-late '90s or early '00s. I grew up with this as the sound of Formula 1:

I'm not sure as to my favourite livery, though. The Jordan 198 was pretty cool because it looked like a wasp - or rather, " Buzzin' Hornets " - but then there's the Williams Renault and, of course, Ferrari, of whom I was a fan back then. The Renault championship-winning cars looked great too.

I'm a big fan of the Williams FW15C. I have a feeling I'm going to like the 2014 cars alot too.

2007 and 2008. Especially the Mclaren MP4-22 and MP4-23. Fast, they look like spaceships with winglets everywhere, and they sport one of the best modern liveries ever.
