Why did you delete it? I think it was a good discussion.

Possibly because I might have snapped at him a little too harshly with my reply. I do feel bad about that.

I was wondering that too. I got a notification and then it 404'd (or 403, whatever).

It really was a good discussion.
I never felt like the editors rubbed it in, but I learned three things from all that:
Gifts $50 and up need to be disclosed as per regulations

My old Buddy Crazy Eddie drunk emailed me from the Travaasa last night. Seems GM was ensuring he'd say nothing but fluffy lovelies about the new Silverado by stunting his metabolic processes with an excess of BBQ and rum. He was too busy doing awesome shit on GM's dime to hang out over a burger and a Pearl Snap with his ol' college buddy.
Same crap when Josh Jacquot or Philip Royle are in town. Test drives! Celebrity ride alongs! Gran Turismo challenges in the hotel bar between Road & Track and Edmunds editors! Booze! Franklin BBQ, and they don't even have to wait in line!
Fellas. I'm here to tell you, aside from the $26,000 salary, auto journalism is the LIFE!

That was, essentially, the general gist of my rant in reply to his. I might have been slightly harsher about it, though.
