I'm just learning some chords and practicing simple chord transitions. Apparently the teacher said it's to a Taylor Swift song (*shudders*) but I guess that's ok for now.
I guess my main issue atm is fingering some chords that I can't remember right now lol. But I will ask you again when/if I need help!

I'm glad to help. Just post using the tag GUITARLOPNIK. Pretty much everyone who plays has used that tag before.

Practice. A lot. There's a pretty huge learning curve, you'll hate your fingers and all they've ever known, you'll get frustrated beyond words and want to set a music store on fire, and you may get discouraged because it seems like it takes forever to really 'get' it, but just keep going. I've found that I always seem to learn things in waves, almost like leveling up in an RPG; I'll be practicing a song or a technique for days, weeks, months, whatever, and everything will 'click' all at once. It's immensely satisfying to finally nail a riff that's been kicking your ass for days.
Learning songs by ear is a great idea, too. It can be pretty overwhelming at first, but check out a few tabs and get a general idea of what the different progressions sound like and just start messing around. It's a lot more helpful than just reading tabs in the long run.
