The video gaming industry has produced racing games since its beginnings, and one of the most entertaining franchises has been Need For Speed. Over the years, the graphics have evolved from a couple of pixels to a (meh) realistic driving experience. To really contemplate the significant changes in the game's graphics, you need to watch this video.

I still think Hot Pursuit 2 was the best.

You spelled "Most Wanted" wrong.

Meh, I liked the NFS games back when they were simply out running the police in exotic supercars in the most beautiful places in the world. Things seemed to go downhill after they introduced customization and open worlds. Not that I have anything against the later games, they aren't as enjoyable to me.

To me Porsche Unleashed was perfect. The graphic, the physics, the interiors. That was THE NFS for me. You could also enjoy the replays because it felt real with the shaking. NFS underground was great too in his way. Then you had the showcases of the older titles that gave so much infos! I miss that. If they did a NFS with the sense of speed and physics of NFS SE, dream cars like always, tuning like in Porsche Unleashed, interiors like Shift 2, showcases like NFS SE or NFS II and tracks like the older titles with no festival like bling bling, cops like in Hot Pursuit II, the ability to change between Arcade and Simulation like in NFS II, be able to use your G25/G27/Fanatec wheel and feel that it works like in NFS Shift 2 with the 900 degrees settings, and the online fun that you have in NFS World, I SWEAR I WOULD BUY IT!!!!!.....and where's Motor City Online???

I didn't make the video.
It was this guy.

Especially the auto-drifting on the later titles...my god this ruined Hot Pursuit 2012 for me and it's a good thing I tried the demo first.

OMG, I used to think that looked so realistic!
This game was awesome. So much better than the latest ones like Shi(f)t and Burnout Hot Pursuit.

I remember getting the demo for the first one. I loved it. It was so simple. Straight line race on a street with traffic. Cops as well. Some of the jumps and crashes were hilarious. Played it on my Pentium 60.

Burnout Hot Pursuit HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

NFS Porsche definitely got me into Porsches in a big way (although I already liked the 993 Turbo from earlier games). I still love them! What a great game. I played that one for years. I even used to race my dad on his machine with peer-to-peer IP. Who needs online?!

It so is! The pursuit system was a major letdown after the other Hot Pursuit games. Too idiot-proof. Busting used to be a challenge before Criterion came in and added the Burnout "Takedown" function to it...

I riced so many cars in Underground, but Hot Pursuit 2 was the best.

I wanted a 2.7 RS because of that game! Then my favorite car became the 911 993 Carrera convertible. All black everywhere even the interior! Man I miss it!

It is from Criterion -_- after Burnout Paradise, they had to put their ideas somewhere lol.

I wasn't correcting an error in the video, I was criticizing Blondudes choice in NFS games.

Pentium 60? Well, shit, I never made it past Pentium 4!!!

Agree. Spent many hours on this game as a child

Always had a soft spot for the late 90's to early 2000's NFS games. I hold II, HP II and Porsche Unleashed close to my heart.

Hot Pursuit 2 had the best cop helicopter too. Drop explosives!!

Yeah it was the best, even if it only has Porsches. Amazing game.

To be fair it Hot Pursuit 2012, Burnout Paradise was fun as hell. Played the shit out of the first one.

I don't remember the title being "Most Wanted Porsches Unleashed" I thought it was just "Porsche Unleashed".

Porsche Unleashed was probably the best game they ever made. Evolution mode was amazing. Taking you through time with period cars and mods. Your cars would eventually even gain value as the years passed.
Hot Pursuit was also jaw droppingly good for its time. Highstakes just built on it, and while not bad the stage based mod system was weak.
The original too, was very good, with videos and specs on the cars in the game.
I think a lot of folks never played the earlier games as there are a lot of folks sending love at the more arcade-y titles like Hot Pusuit 2; Which I had a really hard time standing.
I did get back in though and enjoyed Underground 1 and 2 and the Run.

What got me about that game was the crash physics - knock out the headlight on the right-hand side? Good luck avoidng that wall on the outside of turn 7! Fucked up the front-left wheel? I hope you've got a wheel, because keyboard-steering that pig is NOT gonna be fun.
edited, because spelling
I miss that shit.

Dont forget the flashers in the earlier games hahahaha. I forgot about the value going up of older car in Evolution!

When NFS was more simulation inclined than arcadish. When you were able to use flashers (useless BUT FUN!). The evolution mode was so well thought, that you are wondering, WTH happened with that team that created this masterpiece?? I miss it too man...

Yeah, I loved Burnout Paradise too. But NFS isn't Burnout! I think Criterion did HP '12, so that explains it, but it makes it worse than the first two Hot Pursuits. They were actually challenging.
