I have been liking Hall and Oates more and more lately.
I think they have kind of achieved classic status, like a lot of other 70's-80's acts.
Popular, tapering down to somewhat forgotten in favor of newer stuff in the 90's and early 2000s, then resurgent upon re-discovery and reminding people what good music used to be.
Or maybe it is just me, and people in their 30's or older.
Because I can't stand "in da club" hookup songs, meaningless pop drivel, and head-ache inducing dub-step, and rap/hip-hop has never been my taste, although I can respect some of the older, mainstream, cleaner stuff.
New songs aren't much about love or heartbreak anymore... pop culture doesn't invest that kind of emotion in the hookup scene anymore.

agreed 100%. If there was more stuff out there worth listening to maybe I wouldnt be looking back so much. This whole episode of Old Grey Whistle Test was gold. Check it out.
