That was a pretty neat movie with some awesome cars in it! I must admit I know almost nothing about cars from that era. But I do admire them, apparently Gatsby's car is a supercharged (per the movie), 1929 Duesenberg Model J.
I watched it with the girl that drives the G20, she's pretty awesome so far!
Way better than that girl with the Chevy Sonic, or the one with the Dodge Journey R/T. Car-wise, in my opinion, the Infiniti G20 is certainly the rarer, more interesting of the three.
So, since I've just listed three cars, let's play DD-Track-Burn.
DD the Journey (it being the more practical of the three), track the G20 (simply cause it would look better on a track than my burn victim) and burn the Sonic.

DD: G20, Track:Sonic, Burn:Dodge journey.
I did almost switch the G20 and the van. Those mini vans can be pretty plush for a DD.

perhaps if you strip the Sonic of everything possible it could be a fun little track car.

Yeah, I put it as the track car because I would never want to DD it, and like you said, stripped down it could be fun to throw around.
