but he does like Ron Howard, so I was telling him yesterday about how excited I am to see Rush .
"Eh," he said, "Every time I see a racing movie, it just doesn't do anything for me. Didn't we see that one with Stallone where the guy crashes into the swamp?"
"Yeah, that was Driven . It's universally regarded as one of the worst racing movies of all time."
"Yeah, I guess we'll see."
THANKS, STALLONE. Your stupid movie didn't just ruin itself, it ruined an entire genre for the foreseeable future!

You know... i completely agree with your point, but what makes Rush so enjoyable for non-car types, is that it's not strictly a racing movie. You get more of it (and more out of it), if you're a car-type person, but the driving parts are shot and edited to also have an effect on people who don't watch monkey Harris as much as i do. So much so, that i was wondering, if it could have been even better for us with a bit fewer effects and more driving.
In short: if you can somehow get your old man into the theater, neither of you will end up disappointed.

I know what you mean. Stallone ruined every arm wresting movie for me.
