I think being down 80hp and only being .5 seconds slower says something though.

Not to mention though all the pony cars are getting major overhauls for the next gen.

I don't really care which is faster around a track by a pro-driver or a factory engineer that has lapped any given test track 1000+ times. The ZL1 (I know we are talking Z/28 here) is more livable as a daily driver. That's what matters 99-100% of the time.

LOL ARE YOU KIDDING ME? On the race track, The 1LE takes the BOSS 302, and the ZL1 takes the GT500. And pretty much every review attests to the fact that the ZL1 is the better track car, and that the GT500 has brakes that wont last 2 laps. ZL1>GT500. Plus a camaro isnt a car for secretaries or 19 year old tools....

eh no, GT500 is only manual, the Zl1 offers an automatic, so that 19 year old tools and secretaries can use it.

i dont care if the brakes dont last on a GT500, it makes a single lap faster, thats a win.

ah calm down, didnt you see the video i posted, it says at the end that the ZL1 is a better car, yes it is better on the track, but the GT500 is faster

After every lap the GT500 will be more slower than the underpowered-and-overweight ZL1, which means that the ZL1 is the superior car. GM made the ZL1 to have good straight-line speed, but they clearly put more time/money to make it a track car (even though the z28 is soon coming). All ford did was increase displacement & strap on a supercharger. The result is a car with an 80hp advantage, and a killer power to weight ratio being only tenths of a second faster on the first lap, and not keeping up for the rest of the track day because the brakes are so bad, and because the handling isnt as good. Oh, and the gt500s that ford gives for testing have about 8k in options to make it a better track car, yet its still is inferior. So dont bother bringing your GT500 on track day, unless you want to get beaten by a ZL1...

you just repeat what they say on the motortrend video...its not rocket science, the zl1 is a track car and the gt500 a tire smoker, still, on a lap time it was faster i dont understand why you dont get that
