I can't wait for snow.
Interesting note - the Volt doesn't make any heat under the hood when the engine is off, so the snow never melts off...

How often does the engine turn on when you're on battery in the cold?
Mines does it way more often then I'd like.

I have a '13 so there is a setting for "Very cold" which makes it not come on unless its below 15 degrees F. For us (near Boston) that's about 3-4 days per winter. If you have an '11 or '12 it's locked to 25 F.
