A friend wants me to help him find a classic mini, preferably running, with the 1.3L engine. He also wants a manual (4 or 5, whichever) and RHD. He is also poor as hell, as am I.
Where are good places to look for ones that are between the rusted-to-hell/ran-when-parked sector and the restomod/awesome/expensive as hell sector?
I'm assuming forums, as craigslist and ebay haven't done much to help so far.
We can travel to pick it up, and he is thinking of waiting another 3-4 months in order to find the perfect one. Also, he's Irish (like a citizen), so no British flags on the roof.

I found mini through MiniMania.com. Their classifieds are really good.
There are some resellers out there, too.
1275cc 4 speed is what he'll be looking for. There are so many different years of Minis here in the states some antique, some not so much. Have him sort by price on the Minimaina site, and see what he can afford.
What is his budget?
