Kinja'd!!!

My day consisted of fasting from when I woke up, until I had my blood drawn at 5:30 PM, and a ~260 mile round trip with 2 hours of work sandwiched between. In theory, a shit day. In practice, I got to drive my car.

I drove my car round trip from the middle of Indiana to Louisville, Kentucky simply to plug in a few computers. It rained so hard the whole way that traffic was moving at 40 mph, and there were multiple times when it was completely stopped due to construction. I did not eat anything until I returned home twelve hours after I woke up, as necessitated by my doctor prior to the blood test. Keep in mind, needles have been a bit of a phobia of mine since I broke my skull when I was 9 years old.

I have been completely exhausted from having to fast for 2 days in a row for medical shit.

However, I did get to drive my car the whole way. I saved for 6 years to buy my first car, so it is a real pleasure when I get to drive it, talk about it, wash it, look at it, etc. I have modded it out with performance parts specifically to my liking, and added aesthetic touches that make it mine. I always turn my head to look at my car after I park it.

I look back at it not because I'm vain, I look because it is one of my biggest accomplishments in life thus far. It's a physical representation of my personality. It represents my college years coming to fruition from getting a job in my field.

I grew up loving tuner cars but knowing nothing about them. I slowly expanded myself into the car scene, learning what I could. Piece by piece I put together what I would want, versus what I could afford in a car.

I know I could have afforded a WRX with the money I put into this car, or easily bought any kind of good handling shell and plopped an LSX into it. I didn't want to do that, I wanted to do it my way. This is my car, there are many like it, but this one is mine.

And that is why, even though my day seems to be quite a shit one on paper, I managed to enjoy myself.
