I mean the first post. Like if you kept scrolling and didn't stop until you reached the end. Furthermore, how old is Oppo? What day did it go live?
Edit: Does anyone know for sure if pre-NuOppo posts were archived?
More edit: I tried using Wayback Machine, but it only goes back to NuOppo. Maybe because they changed the url for the site redesign?

Do you mean the first saved under the current kinja? You won't be able to scroll to the first post on the new kinja I don't believe, I think they get saved off somewhere and unavailable.
The first oppo post is probably long gone, as the site has seen a few redesigns. I'm sure they have it somewhere, but nowhere accessible to us.
I could also be totally wrong.

I've only been posting on Oppo since June, but from what I've been able to piece together there have been two versions of Oppo. The current one went live sometime in February after an update to Kinja. The original's conception, however, is unknown. Well, at least to me it isn't.

This is the furthest back I can get.
All I want is an Audi s4/rs4/rs6 type wagon with a manual, possibly diesel and would be excellent to have selectable 4x4 going from rwd to four wheel. Is that too much for ask for in the american market? Also under 12k for a decent used example.
I drive a 99 legacy 2.5gt wagon currently and all I could ask for is more power (stock 165 up to 200 would be great) and better gas mileage. Even a boost from 24 to 30mpg would be welcome but more is always better 9/24/12 1:51pm "

There's totally a word for the digital space that all the old shit gets saved to. I just can't get it though, can't think of that freaking word.
I keep wanting to say cached, but that isn't really close to it at all.

It exists in the Nether Realm and can only be accessed through the long lost Necronomicon

HOLY FUCK JESUS thank you. Oh my god is that bothersome when you can't think of a word.
Damn I love you so much right now. I'm really tired and burnt out from a week of school that I couldn't think straight.

By my recollection, it started in either 2006 or 2007. Back then, it was called "Off Topic," and there was also a separate "Tips" forum.

Holy shit that was a while ago.
Where are our lawn chairs and AARP memberships?

There was a time. A long long time ago. Long before Kinja. Long before that which was known as 6.0. Longer even before 5.0 or 4.0. A time before this place called "Oppositelock" even existed. Back then hashtags had not yet come to Jalopnik only to disappear. Back then, there was started a side forum behind the normal El Camino posts that was known as "Off Topic". Back then was a wild time. A time when Breffass Scotch ruled the world. It was a time when anything went. NSFW posts were, in fact, NSFW. SFW posts were occasionally NSFW. Also, according to what I'm seeing there was at some point a post about canine scrotum tickling.
That being said, I believe the first post was made by one Roy Wort in March 2010:

"Did you know there's a Jalopnik off-topic forum ? It's like a chat room, but fun."
EDIT: I now stand corrected I believe. I do believe the Off Topic forum existed before Jalopnik Gold for some reason. And that was 2009. Wow I've wasted far too much time on this site.

The first post (from when the current version went live, 11 Feb 2013), AFAIK, Hardibro's call for authors , but the switch happened overnight for me, so I'm not sure when exactly jalopnik/oppo/forum started redirecting to oppositelock.jalopnik
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
The first post of the pre-kinja-but-still-sort-of-kinja was Hardibro saying something like "here goes nothing." Before that is beyond me.
The first hits to oppositelock.jalopnik were on 21 January 2013, and the first post (besides posts that have been schedule-nuked to the past) was Gamecat on 23 January 2013. You can read all of Kinja-Oppo EDIT: JUST KIDDING, you can only see the earliest two here (plus 2 schedule-nuked posts).

I found this : lol, makes me realize how much Jalopnik is a guinea pig for Kinja. I'm pretty sure we're re the smallest community of all the Gawker sites, so we get big redesigns first (like Kinja 2.o) because who cares what we think? Granted we're also the most community based of all the Gawker sites, so that also helps.

Nice. My dad isn't into cars as much as he used to be, but I did get the pleasure of letting him drive my E90 M3 this past year.
I hope my kids never have to say, "I wish Dad never got rid of that M3..."
We'll see how long I can keep it "in the stable".

Yeah, an '08 with the manual in Silverstone II.
Love it more every time I drive it!

I have a friend that used to own a black one, but traded it in for new white 3-series sedan with a turbo.
I'll never understand why, but I've never even driven a BMW, so I can't really say anything.
