I love big engines like that. I got to run 4 much smaller 8-cylinder 4-stroke turbodiesels at my part-time job in college.

Fun facts:

The large tubes with the gauges on the end are for compressed air, which is used for starting.

The grey "cage" over the flywheel is basically a giant alternator connected directly to the crankshaft.

The smaller thing in the yellow cage on the end is a true generator, which is used to excite the alternator in case of total power failure.

The turbos radiate the heat of a thousand suns when everything is going full bore.
