Understeer is when 1 or both front tires are losing traction to the point where the car is not responding to steering inputs. To correct power understeer, gently ease back off of the gas so there is traction available for turning. For brake understeer, in a non-ABS car, use a similar gentle decrease in pressure applied to the brake pedal to allow the front tires to grip and turn.
