There is a Dodge Power Wagon in Grand Theft Auto V. Just thought I should get that one out of the way. With only a day to go before the game’s release, some early reviewers have identified many of the vehicles making an appearance.
Here’s just a sampling of the most Jalop-worthy vehicles:
Chevrolet El Camino ("Cheval Picador")
1960s GM wagon ("Dundreary Regina")
Holden Commodore-type vehicle ("Cheval Fugitive")
Land Rover Series III & Kaiser M715 morph ("Canis Bodhi")
Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale & Ferrari 250-series morph ("Grotti Stinger / Stinger GT")
Dodge WM300 Power Wagon ("Bravado Duneloader")
Bugatti Type 57 SC ("Truffade Z-Type")
Toyota Hilux-type vehicle
Baja Bug ("BF Injection")
Lamborghini Miura ("Pegassi Monroe")
Aston Martin DB5 ("Dewbauchee JB 700")
Visit !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for a more thorough listing of the currently-identified vehicles.
There's still no Miata, though :(
Edit: See the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for a more complete listing (h/t to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ).

Power Wagon is the best thing Dodge has ever built imo.

No Perennial? I am disapoint.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:03 |

I get that it's we all like miatas, but I'd rather have any of the cars you listed over a miata.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:08 |

Edit: never mind, I'm on my phone and didn't see the whole list of Jalop friendly cars. I'm also about to explode if Amazon doesn't deliver my copy tomorrow.

I am going to be so useless for the rest of this week. I can already tell. I guess I have known it for months now.

Let's not forget the Futo (AE86) makes a reappearance.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:16 |

It's sorta sad there's no miata for this one, it's going to be a fun map to just cruise around.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:18 |

Still more favorable of the true jalop worthy taurus sable wagon (Solair) in San Andreas (early 90s) and GTA4 (late 90s early 2ks) build
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:18 |

The Country Squire would definitely be lower on my list than a Miata...
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:19 |

Don't forget about the Vapid: Sandking (Mix between a Ford F-350 and a F-150 Raptor)

Renaming BMW as 'Ubermacht' and Audi as 'Obey' made me laugh out loud. The Obey Tailgater really is the best name ever for an Audi.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:22 |

There was a Mercedes (Benefactor) SL65 Black Series in clip I just saw.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:27 |

God I hope there's a car stealing side story like at the car dealership in vice city. Finding all the cars is awesome.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:28 |
|
Isn't that more of an AE96 or AE98? It was FWD as I remember in GTA4
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:32 |
|
The race car prizes were rewarding too.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:35 |

Is that supposed to be the Country Squire in the last picture? Because it sure looks like a 65-70 Impala/Caprice to me. And what about that Jeep Gladiator pick up in the top picture?
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:38 |
|
That site's not very up to date.
The GTA V page on IGCD.net is much more detailed, with more vehicles and complete in-game names.

![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:39 |

It had been identified as a Caprice On-line, but I thought the side looked a lot more like a Country Squire. As with most GTA vehicles, it's usually a mash of similar cars. I'm no expert on 1960s wagons though, so I defer to your judgment here. The other truck in the top picture is supposed to be the Land Rover Series III & Kaiser M715 morph, the "Bodhi."
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:41 |
|
That's the great thing about GTA: you can have ALL OF THE CARS!!!
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:41 |
|
Wrong. That's the notchback AE86.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:48 |

Good luck. My Amazon pre-order isn't supposed to get here for another week. Luckily I've got a GameStop pre-order too that I'm picking up in the morning
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:48 |

I'd totally forgot about IGCD. There's even a Miura on their list! The list I linked to did have airplanes, which IGCD does not have. Together, I'm sure we have a more comprehensive list.

Bravado Duneloader: Best name for a fake Power Wagon ever.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:50 |

Kind Sir, Your memory does not serve You well. It was RWD in GTA4.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 14:50 |

The AE86 was RWD.........

Alright, I don't even really have to play the missions anymore. The cars, and their versions of them are so awesome now.

When did you preorder? On Amazon it says mine should be here by 8pm tomorrow. Hopefully by noon when regular mail arrives though..

I like how IV's Solair looked like an Australian Falcon AU from the front. The Solair was even rear wheel drive in the game!
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:07 |
|
Ah, I'm thinking of the Blista Compact.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:13 |
|
Maybe I'm just too young, but I really don't understand the love for the Country Squire, or other such vehicles. It's a giant. It handles like shit. It's hideous (my opinion). Brakes slower than a fully loaded freight train. Slow, which is probably good, given how terrible it's brakes are. Yeah, it's got a 7L V8 (option), but it only makes 340hp. Lower engines have less. Roughly the same aerodynamic properties as a brick. Weighs so much that H2s make fat jokes about it.
Is it purely a nostalgia thing?
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:14 |
|
Blista compact was based on the Honda CRX if memory serves...
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:18 |

yes, for some reason I got them mixed.

From igta5:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Manufacturer: Karin Influences: Lexus IS front, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI rear Capacity: 4 Features:Notes:
Idk about you guys but to me the Sultan was always the definite inspiration from a BL 4th gen Subaru Legacy, especially in GTA 4 when you got the 2 door Sultan RS, they purposely put that signature flat 4 drone as the exhaust note.
I guess the front does look like an IS300, but i'm pretty sure the model of the car was AWD as well, iirc you couldnt do standstill burnouts on the Sultan or the Sultan RS
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:21 |

I never hooned any other car in IV as much as I did with the Solair :)

WOO COUNTRY SQUIRE
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:30 |

Even worse, it's no longer legal for the kids to play freely in the way-back. That's what made wagons awesome in the 70's and 80's, but the nanny state took that away from us!
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:31 |
|
This game is going to suck me into a black hole. And my understanding about the online component is that you'll be able to stock your huge garage with all your cars, then invite your online friends over to check out your shit (and maybe go heist some more cars together). Are you kidding me?
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:32 |
|
I don't care what they've added. I'm still grumpy the Rumpo is gone.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:43 |

Character. Also tons of space and wood paneling.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:45 |
|
And that positive aspect wouldn't even apply in a video game.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:50 |
|
For me, it was the car inspired by the 430 (don't remember the in game name).
I'd go to the 2 story dealer, shoot up the place on the bottom floor and outside to get a nice police rating, then Dukes of Hazard one of the models on the second floor and go on a nice little police chase. Once I finally lost them. I'd go back and do it all over again. Great fun.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:51 |

I have played a ton of GTA IV and I've never seen that car
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:53 |

Am I the only one who loves to hoon the Vincent in GTA 4?
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:55 |

Could you possibly be thinking of the Uranus (Merkur/Mustang Fox-body mix) in GTA4? That was FWD even though both base cars were RWD.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:58 |

I saw a streaming yesterday on Twitch and if Im not wrong there is a Jeep Grand Cherokee
![]() 09/16/2013 at 15:58 |

My order also says it's supposed to be here tomorrow by 8pm, but it's still listed as "Not Yet Shipped". I ordered Dec 17, 2012 and paid extra for 1-day shipping, so it had better be here!
![]() 09/16/2013 at 16:07 |

Depends on what state you're in. Mine only requires a seat belt for front seat passengers to this day.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 16:14 |

Hopfully they still have the classic Lambo/NSX/Pagani-based Infernus and the super rare 912-based Comet.

http://www.igcd.net/game.php?id=16…
I get that many of the vehicles in this game have been lightly customized, and that the renderings are perfect, but the car that's listed as a 1958 Chevy Bel Air just plain isn't.
Nevermind that the grill sports 1957 Caddy dagmars, that could be an add-on. Look at the roofline. It's the 55-57 two door hardtop roofline, not the 1958. Just saying.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 16:38 |
|
They may have been it too, I forgot about that one.
All I know is, I would always try to find one of those cars that looked RWD but was actually FWD.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 16:40 |
|
Perhaps, but I couldn't in good conscience let my kids ride back there without a seatbelt, and I would be considered the worst parent in the world if I did.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 16:51 |

I liked that there was a pickup called the Contender with "FWD" written on the back.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 17:01 |

No Fortune? As an MN12 enthusiast that was my favorite car in San Andreas and GTA4...
![]() 09/16/2013 at 17:01 |

Based on the taillights, I'd say that's a Chevelle wagon, not the full size.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 17:13 |

Still 10 more hours to go. I think I'll hop in my Futo GT, and get some coffee at Tarbrush coffee in Los Santos.... in real life...
![]() 09/16/2013 at 17:19 |
|
A great pair of cars, indeed. GTA really knocks it out of the park with their vehicles. I wanted to wait until christmas to pick up the game, but I don't think I'll be able to resist that long.
Another monster truck would be great, but it shouldn't handle like a laundry basket being pushed down a set of stairs this time.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 17:23 |
|
You may be right, but it looks most like a 66-67 Chevelle wagon, which I don't think had wood sides.

I'm gonna drive the fuck out of the new Regina.

A week or two ago. It's a gift for a friend.
I pre-ordered my own copy about a year ago but recently cancelled and decided to go all out on the Collector's Edition at my local GameStop......... which doesn't open until 10am, so ARG!!!
![]() 09/16/2013 at 18:56 |

I hope the Faggio makes a return appearance. Nothing like playing multiplayer and doing drive-bys on a scooter, then powerbraking it until the back tire blew out. Classic.

Yes, but it is a RWD V8 muscle car wagon. That ticks a lot of all our boxes.

Just came across this shot while searching for reviews. Do I spy a Miura, Zonda, DB5, D-type, Bugatti Atlantic, along with some mystery car?
![]() 09/16/2013 at 19:15 |

Yup and yup. But, the Comet is more of a modern 997. It was the same way with IV. Honestly, I only ever played this game for the cars.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 19:16 |

There's a lot of Jalops out there who don't like this vehicle very much. Having said that, the execution of the entire car is an engineering marvel.
![]() 09/16/2013 at 19:19 |

Two others have correctly pointed-out that it more closely resembles a Chevrolet. Either way, it's a woody wagon from the muscle car era. That's really all that matters!

Grotti is Ferrari, those arent Alfas. They may have a few design aspects of the Tipo 33, but as Grottis they clearly represent the 250 California and the 250 GTO.
People need to realize what the game's companies represent, it isn't just about looks anymore.
Like the Grotti Carbonizzare (or whatever).... everyone is saying GTR and Aston Martin Zagato. 1. There is another car that is the GTR in the game 2. The front of the Carbonizzare clearly shows it is a 599/F12 (being a Grotti). If it were an Aston it would be under the Dewbauchee brand. Sure the rear is a spittin image of the Aston Zagato, but in the game the car is CLEARLY a Ferrari.

The Solair only appears in certain areas of Liberty City, and only at certain times of the day. I've seen them in the evenings near the park in Algonquin.

Hahahaha dude, I'm lying on my couch sick right now. That just made me laugh out loud too, except it hurt at the same time. That is the most appropriate fake name for any car ever.

I actually have 2 permanently parked outside my house. One so I can drive a few blocks to start spawning them in, and another for backup. I can almost never seem to get them to spawn otherwise.
I prefer the version with the wing/spoiler (It gives you I think "10% more of the power" to the rear wheels. a 30/70 split instead of 60/40). I actually think they look good, and slide good too.

It didn't even dawn on me that the rumpo was missing. Thats been gone since what, san andreas?

The Hoods Rumpo was a pretty badass van. I don't remember seeing it at all in San Andreas, so at least since then. I'm hoping they decide to bring it back for GTA V though. I guess we all get to find out tomorrow!

I love that the Regina's a common car in this one. They made it stupidly rare in TLAD.
