It's slow, but in quite good condition, and comfortable as hell. I have many plans for it, and am also having my mechanic give it a thorough going-over this Friday to make sure I didn't miss anything.

1983 240, 2.3L I4, 110,000 miles, and most scheduled maintenance has been done already. All for just over $1600. I've already put 250 miles on it, and it's excellent.

240s are the best! Sideways all winter long now, eh?

looks clean as anything. That extra rub strip doesnt do it any favors but that thing will run forever and look good just as long if you keep up on it. See if you can hunt up some trim rings for those steelies too

Damn right! It is the non turbo, so I'll be sideways at about 5mph, but it'll still be awesome!

Absolutely. First order of business is fix a leaking exhaust manifold, and replace the headlights, which are the original sealed beam pieces of shit. I'm going to replace them with hella halogens from IPD. Not sure what's next until my mechanic looks at it - hopefully I didn't miss anything expensive.

yeah I have had all kinds of exhaust problems on those. Motor mounts usually to blame, but there is a ton of room in there to get those done in an hour. IPD has good stuff, and for normal maintenance stuff I use fcpgroton.com. Those sealed beams are alot better than the later plastic lens headlights at least! I was looking for another 240 wagon before I bought the Fox waggy, but every one up here in Maine is either rusted to hell or pricey. Good luck!

Awesome, thanks for the tip! I'm completely new to volvos, so I anticipate a bit of a learning curve, but I love how easy to get to everything seems to be.

Step 1: un-slowify it

Absolutely happening. Two issues:

1, it's an autobox, and I can't do a manual swap because the whole point was that my wife wanted a cool old automatic.

2, no money for 940 Turbo engine or something yet. We'll see what happens down the road.
