Patrick Peterson, a cornerback, has a better total QBR than Philip Rivers. Also, a better total QBR than 27 other starting NFL Quarterbacks.

To Patrick's credit, every ball he's thrown has been caught and resulted in a first down.

And I am glad to have Vick and Manning on my fantasy football team...

Can I ask a question about this? Do people like the stats more than the game itself? I hear people talking about their fantasy team stats all the time, but not a whole lot of discussion about the game of egghand. There's so much about this that I find perplexing.

Not really, no. That's baseball fans that prefer stats to the game itself, not football fans. I'm just the sort of person who loves the idea of a strictly defensive player (and a great strictly defensive player at that) being listed as one of the best offensive players in the league thanks to but one unique play.
