You may laugh at me Oppo, because y'all spend time changing your clutches, or fuel pumps or whathaveyou, but I am a novice wrencher who knows nothing about mechanics.

But, you gotta start somewhere. So, I bought a flexible ratchet set,

some plugs, and got to work.

I did all the things your supposed to do:

1) get the old plugs out using a special spark plug socket: Check

2) Put in diaeletric grease into the spark plug boots: Yuuup

3) Gap the plugs to manufacturers recommendations? Oh you bet I did!

4) Use anti seize on the new plug threads: Mega Check

5) not over torque the plugs: Ultra check

6) Put it all back together: Quintiple check

7) See if the car actually works with it's new plugs? Mother fucking check.

Wrenching feels good! It actually went fairly smooth, and from start to finish took 2 hours.

Good job dude. You're on your way to a full engine rebuild one day.

Well done, man. What car is this on?

I've gotten totally spoiled having stupid easy access to my spark plugs. I check them probably a couple times a month to make sure everything's running smooth.

"We need something revolutionary. A chocolate-item-in-the-shape-of-something-that's-not-normally-chocolate that will revolutionize the chocolate-item-in-the-shape-of-something-that's-not-normally-chocolate industry!"

"Uh... a fish?"

"BRILLIANT! Give that man a raise! No, give him two!"

It was on a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier 2.2L Ecotec. They weren't too hard to get at, but its not something I'd be doing a few x per month.

Hey man, take pride in that! You just did something that probably better than 90% of the population can't/won't do.

We all started with the simpler things. Builds confidence and then you can attack other, more complex things. Before long, you will have a box full of tools and be able to save lots of money on repairs. Go Dude, you are officially a Jalpop.

Good man. Spark plugs are one of the gateway drugs into DIY maintenance. Next step in the spiral is an oil change :)
