Yes, 5 people in less than a mile had their high beams on with no regard for their fellow man.
I flashed mine to every single one in hopes that they would realize and correct the issue however not a single one did. So car after car I was momentarily blinded and put in danger because I wasn't able to see the lines on the road.
Please people, if others are around, lights to the ground!

I think DRLs are largely at fault for the massive increase I have seen as well. Out here in the 'burbs, people often have their brights on when they get home at night, then forget they are on. Since a lot of cars have DRLs these days, their lights are on all the time and I think they don't realize their brights are on. Or, they're just assholes.

Or, they're even bigger assholes who put HIDs in non projector housings. A lot of that around here too.

New BMWs ect.... I often wonder how these new lights can be legal. They are not even on brights as far as I can tell, but blinding!

I once yelled out my window at the driver of a minivan to turn off "their damn high beams in the city" cause they were blinding me. Someone woman in said minivan had been following me for a few blocks with these things shining in my mirrors. Good god!

DRLs are also causing a lot of people here in the SF Bay Area to forget to turn on their running lights. In general, the more that the cars are doing for the driver, the less they do or check on. Causing all of us who actually care about the experience to wish for a Soviet style Commissariat dispensing road justice.

From my understanding, DRL's run on high beams at a lower voltage, and are cut out when the light switch is set to normal lights. The original issue - douchenozzles who feel the need cauterize retinas so they can see the road- still remains.

I work graveyard shifts, so I see this all too often. As someone with very photosensitive eyes, it infuriates me.
Lately I've taken to not only flashing them, but if I'm on a country road, I switch into the oncoming lane (circumstances permitting, naturally), and it still takes far too long for them to get the damn hint.
Manufacturers are partly to blame as well, near as I can figure- big high trucks, with high-mounted headlights, for the most part.
If one needs that much light driving in a well-lit city, then perhaps one shouldn't be driving.

Well some of the FJ Cruisers got recalled because their lights are actually brighter than legally permitted.
