What is this car? X-II just shows up under shitty SUVs. I've never seen this before!

I believe a "hot as fire" version of a 1982 Chevy Citation. What I consider to be a wonderful example of early 80s American high meh.

Ah, I see. Too bad. It's sure a hell of a lot better looking than most cars of the era though.
I really wish that sometimes US companies had stayed RWD during the 80s and 90s. We could have a lot of cheap RWD hatchbacks capable of taking more modern motors now if they had just held out and not gone to FF so quickly. Now the RWD hatchback is kind of a dead concept.

Those shorts are shorter than my boxer-briefs!

Yeah, that was a tough era for cars, and moustaches, and furniture, and well...
I agree 100%. Almost every aspect of those cars were sub-par though. Unless it was in AZ or SoCal it would rot too.
Mostly, I think we've made a silly compromise in the US where so many people have no RWD experience and it just snowballs. Or...that they have no idea which wheels are powered because the car is so compliant and predictable.

You can't make this shit up.

That's why I love the Crown Victoria. It really was the last refuge of badass muscle sedan from the 60s and 70s. We have the Charger and CTS now, at least, so thank god they survived the era.
I have a feeling that in 15 years, those sedans are going to be considered badass retro machines.

I love the Vic.
I recently reserved one as a rental car and got an Impala. Boo.
I like the idea of the CTSs, but I just wish they called the Charger something else. I'm not big on nostalgia, but I just think a 4 door auto Charger is some kind of cynical marketing ploy. Just call it a Chagrin or something...

They should have called it the Coronet, made the current "Challenger" (based on the same frame) a Charger, and then made a smaller RWD car based either on the Viper platform or something similar and called it the Challenger.
I would take a viper platform coupe with heavier body panels, simpler construction, and a lower HP Hemi motor for the price of a Mustang, instead of the Challenger. I would take that so hard .

That's brilliant. But the logic they use to segment the market boggles my mind.
I had a bit of hope with the Fiat connection. I think it just made them pander harder to the bigger is better arms race segment.
I will say there is a young salesman near me that is positively floored by the abilities of the new Dart in the hands of a fearless wheelman. Allegedly.

The Dart has huge potential. I want to see a batshit-insane version like the old SRT4. Give dodge the 2.4l 4-cylinder and direct injection technology, and let them play around with turbos. They can pull 300 reliable, emissions-passing HP out of that car if they really tried.

Are you a ABA shooting guard from wayback?
Do you cash checks as an underwear model?
No? Those are short shorts.
You look good though, do your thing.

Well then I wear short shorts, and I am proud.

As well you should be.
Those thighs are meant to be out there.

If a 24 year old man letting his thighs breathe is wrong, I don't want to be right.
