...and I'm very happy. But I'm not here to be soppy, I'm here to be Jalop. I was trusted only to find the cars for the wedding. This is what I found.

For the bride, a 1958 Jaguar Mark 1.

For myself... a 1964 Jaguar E-Type.

Okay... so I'm a little bit soppy. I had the E-Type for 3 days as I figured I'd never get another excuse and I'm glad I did, it was such a great experience. Might do an oppo review on the car when I have some time.

Bliss.

Excellent choices.

And all the best to you and the lady.

Without a doubt, impeccable taste. I'm a huge fan of classic Jags, and the E-Type is very nearly my biggest dream car. I've often thought that the E-Type would make a splendid car for a wedding, although I'd be partial to the Roadster over the Coupe. Many congratulations on the blessed event, and gorgeous pictures!

Thank you! I had a tough time making the Roadster/Coupe decision but I wanted a Series 1 car and could only find a Series 3 roadster within a reasonable distance. Still a lovely car, and with the V12, but to me the earlier E-Types are the prettiest.

Have you any Grey Poupon? You already showed you have great taste.

Congrats on that!

Myself and my bride, now of nearly 23 years, left in my '68 MGB. Need to dig out that photo and scan it :)

Very good choices. The interior on that Mk1 looks stunning.

Fantastic :)
Has the MGB lasted as long as your marriage?

I think the little guy sporting the Mini is the clincher.

Those steering wheels are on the wrong side! You are driving on the wrong side! AHHH! Seriously though, beautiful cars and congrats.

Oddly enough, I think my personal preference is for the Series 2. Which makes it that much more likely I'll someday be able to own one...

That said, I'd take _any_ E-Type. In any condition. It'd still be a privilege.

When we got married I had the MGB, a '72 Midget I bought in 1989 and an '86 Jetta GLI. I sold the VW and the MGB to buy a Mercedes 240D; I still have the Midget...drove it yesterday. It was simply more fun to drive than the B....because it's tiny :)
