Does anyone else use adblocker on chrome? I am noticing it is less effective than it used to be. Youtube is starting to have ads again, and more annoyingly the hidden ads from putlocker and primewire are starting to show up again. I don't think there is anything more evil on the interwebs than those damn hidden video ads that you cannot mute.

So does anyone have any other maybe more effective solution to adblocker?

I think it's not quite right to block all ads. Perfectly reasonable to block broken or scammy ads, and those which autoplay videos and so-on, though, in my book.

As Autovox said, the best way to block something is just to check the URI it's loading from and redirect that to localhost in your 'hosts' file.

Chrome w/ Adblocker is still quite effective for me. As for muting ads, I have a mute button on the keyboard...doesn't stop the ad but I don't have to listen to the drivel.

It hasn't been very effective lately, check the reviews . Some people are saying that Google is paying them to show ads on YouTube. As a backup I also got AdBlock for YouTube which seems to be working fine.
