Walked out of the office, ready to start the weekend, only to see this:

It's all the way through the paint, down to at least the primer, maybe even the fiberglass. I hate people that have no respect for another's property.

This right here is why I don't think people who double-park in the back end of parking lots are asshats. I view them as someone who's concerned about door dings. For me, I park in the same 3 or 4 spots in the same area of the same floor in the garage at work. I always see the same group of vehicles, so we know each other in a way.

"in the back end of the parking lot" is the key there. Asshats are the people who double park right at the front, in a place where traffic is trying to flow, in a handicap/emergency/loading spot, or when the parking lot is jam-packed.

Precisely. Take up two spots no one cares about? You're cool. Take up two prime spots or reserved spots or pedestrian areas or any combination there of? You're an asshat.

I am the back lot, double-spot-taking king. Even when i bought my 330, it still had big dings and a sizable dent. But the paint was still nice and my last car, which was 3 years ago in high school, was annihilated by dings. People really don't care about other people's property, especially the commuter-only types

EDIT: I forgot about this picture. That is precisely why I started parking away from society

The other day i thought someone keyed my car. But upon further inspection I think they did a "dukes of hazzard, slide" over my hood. They probably had a metal button on their back pocket.

I've also had someone (apparently) jump on my front bumper hard enough to break it off.

WTF is wrong with people?

What really gets me are the shitbags that go out of their way to park right next to the guy/gal in the nice car double parked out in the very back of the parking lot just to be dicks.

There's no other goddamn reason to do that to someone.

There's a bunch of us at the office who like to park way out in BFE so we don't have to worry about door-dingers (a GTR, couple of Evos and STIs, a Bimmer and myself). There was one asshat who thought he was gonna be cute and park right up next to the GTR a couple of times.

Rumor has it he got straightened out and put in his place good by the driver of the GTR. I wish I could have been present for that meeting.

Such are the hazards of owning a car. Or, anything really, that you have to leave in public at times and rely on the responsibility of others not to fuck with.
