Is there a car that doesn't get hate spewed at it?

The Mustang II article on the front page got me thinking. Is there a car that no person will shit all over? Or is it a universal constant that no matter what somebody will hate it?

I'm sure there has to be an exception, but for the life of me I can't think of one. Many might think E-type, or Miura, or pre war Bugatti's. But, I just know that out there somebody hates them. Whether its because there European or they only like modern computer controlled cars or they just flat out hate cars (Dirty fucking hippies, get that damn drum circle off my lawn!).

So Oppo what do you think, is there a car that, regardless of a persons normal outlook, people universally like?

No matter what circles I'm in, people seem to have a uniform respect for the FJ-Series Land Cruiser, the Defender 90, and the Jeep Wrangler. It seems people knock cars all day, but when the discussion comes to SUVs, most people defer to those three for being tremendously capable. Even sports car guys hold at least one or two of those in high regard.

I generally hate Volvos, but that's because I'm Swedish and there's a mix of beige socialist squareness and redneck tuner stigma associated with them here. There are two models that are exempt from those though which I like (but will probably never own due to not being THAT interested in them): the Amazon and the P1800.

Personally, I think it's ugly as sin.

But hating on the Aztec is so played out. It was the butt of nearly every automotive joke ten years ago. But now, the car is the epitome of all that was wrong with American car makers and their "focus groups". Driving an Aztec is like driving a statement that says "Look how bad American cars used to be".

I think we can all agree that American cars have increased in looks and quality since the days of the auto bail-outs.
