Why can't some people just accept other people's opinions/interpretations and not call them the devil?
There are some very strong opinionated people on Gawker. I think its totally fine for people to express their opinion and be passionate in what they believe in, however, you can't entirely judge a person's personality/character based solely on a comment made on an article, just because they have an opinion varying from yours.
Debate is fine in my eyes but when it turns into nasty name calling and what not, that's when the line is crossed. So please people, lets just be somewhat civil towards each other because were all in it for the long run.

It was better a couple years ago. When they started letting people comment by logging in from facebook was when the awesomeness of the front page mostly died off.

I think yours is the kind of comment he's referring to. I don't think he was implying that he felt "oppressed." but that certain opinions were stereotyped, marginalized and dismissed in Gawker discussions .

I guess he did leave out male didn't he? But most of the commenters are male anyway. Jez is the only one that is majority female, and that's only slightly.
Maybe you should take a break though. It's basically just WWI: everybody fighting over what is basically group pride. The biggest difference is that there are no generals forcing people to fight.
