I saw a first gen M5 while walking the dog today. It is a real M5 with a MANUAL!! It appears to have been parked awhile and well-loved. There is a little ripping on the leather seats, pollen dust or plant matter on the hood and bumpers, but no rust near as I can tell. If I was old enough to drive (and had any money) I'd totally buy it. Any Bay Area jalops want to check it out?

PS sorry for the potato pics, all I had was my iPod

First-gen M5 in the US, with a Manual that is being driven and loved instead of neglected or garaged its whole life?

Is that in Berkeley? I'm pretty sure I saw the same one when I was out there last summer. Had never seen one in person until then, and while it was a little beat it, it certainly caught my eye

This picture is in Almaden (south San Jose) but its only about 30-45 minutes from Berkeley, so it could easily be the same one. It was the first time I'd seen one too

If i remember correctly it had ~160k miles on the clock and was a dead ringer for that one. I figured it was a college kid who inherited his dads "old bmw" to drive around during college
