The one with stultifying and jawdropping amounts of epic oldness.

I'd have a nicely restored, stock version of the classic Chrysler.

I would take the Merc and drive it like I stole it.

This could perhaps be the only time I'd choose new before old. I don't even need to watch the video... I LOVE old wagons, but in this case? The Mercedes wins, that is if we're talking about a car I'd have to use every day.

The green one.

I can add amenities like A/C and a stereo. You cannot add the epic patina and class to the Merc.

And it's the CHEAPER of the two as well.

*mindblown*

The one that looks like it was specifically designed to injure pedestrians while I'm comfortably lounged across the front seat at some ungodly speed.

The Desoto/Chrysler followed by getting the body painted, redoing all of the chrome, and adding some nice chrome wheels.

Yeah, the wheels are the only thing I'd change.

And I don't mind patina, but this one has PEELING PAINT. That's not patina. Might change that too.

If it was a nice project car at half the price (even less, probably) I would take the Chrysler... but $140K for an old van in not-that-great condition? No thanks.

The AMG wins in raw performance, handling, price (it's incredible I'm writing this), sleeperness, comfort, it's new and has new death-preventing technology if something goes wrong. It loses in the looks and "cools" v.s. the Icon

Again if I bought an old estate, put some new internals in it, maybe a nice paint job and it all costed me $50K and years of free time I would love it, but all that money to buy something that meant a lot... to someone else? Nope.

Have to go with the tri-star. Older does not always mean better, especially if you have to spend an arm and a leg to restore it.
