Yesterday I did a 13 hour/374 mile trip on some of the UK's most uninteresting roads. It was a long drive rather than a road trip (as described, I think, by Raphael).
But the Jaguar XF with its 3 litre supercharged V6 made the day a pretty comfortable one.

Sweet, I didn't know the XF now came with a supercharged V6. I'd love one, but I don't think I'll be able to afford a full-fat R, but I'd like something with a bit more fizz than the diesel.
Also, does the adaptive cruise control put the brake lights on? For motorway driving, I interpret brake lights as 'holy shit, panic slow down', or 'there's a traffic jam ahead'.
Brake lights cause people to hesitate and slow down a little, which then cascades back and causes traffic jams.

Hi. You know, I've no idea. It does apply the brakes (quite severely if necessary) so I presume it does. A friend's Citroen DS3 merely uses the engine to go and slow but the Jag does use its brakes.
Awesome car by the way. The engine has more than enough power and is super smooth compared to the diesels. I got 30mpg (UK)

30mpg is pretty damn good. I only get that on a run with my 2.5l, 187bhp V6, and the Jag's a hell of a lot more than that (heavier too).

Ouch.
I think I'll have to get a V12 XJS. That's the only way I think I could 1-up that.
