Why go back to F1 when there's rallying to be done?

Let's face it, he's not going back to Formula 1. I don't think he has enough mobility in his wrists to steer an F1 car in that super-tight cockpit, and he seems to enjoy rallying (er, most of the time...), so WRC is probably the best place for him now.
It's a shame, though. It felt like he was just about to make it big...

Well, he can only fall off cliffs so many times before it happens for the last time. I'm not sure rally is really Kubica's strength.
Sports cars or touring cars, on the other hand. They'll be glad to have his talent, and the reduced loads and larger office can certainly accommodate his injury just like WRC.

I disagree. Pretty much every time Kubica's crashed in rally this year its been while he had a healthy lead. His last four results in WRC2 were first, first, second, and first. He even finished fifth overall in Germany, beating more than half the top-spec WRC teams with his less powerful WRC2 car. He's not just good at rallying, he's "potential future factory driver" good. If he backs off by just 10% it'll greatly reduce his off road excursions and he'll truly be a force to be reckoned with

That is just wishful thinking on my part. Wish we'd seen a Nando/Kubica pairing at Ferrari.

Haha. Don't think he is physically capable anymore of getting back into an F1 cockpit. I just want the guy to finish rallys and not break more body parts.

And without the ability to know when to back off, he'll end up dead instead of a factory driver. IMO, there's more to being a good driver than just pace. Maybe he can learn (and hopefully fast), but not every driver is capable of backing off. Some can't get themselves to back off, and if Kubica can't I worry about him.

He's six races incident free, something none of the current factory WRC drivers can say right now, and he's finished every WRC event he's started so far. I think he's already learning it. This practice crash isn't a big deal, everyone crashes in practice at some point. Hirvonen stuffed it testing in January, Solberg crashed in practice at least twice, Ogier stuffed one, etc etc.
