Since I know we have a lot of panther fans (and haters) around here, I figured I'd share some photos from a meet that my forum put on this weekend.

Kinja'd!!!

We've been doing these meets at fuddruckers for a couple of years now and they always go well. This time we had somewhere around 15-20 cars, I didn't get to do a headcount. We also had a couple people show up at random.

I went down to the road to catch a few people coming in. Next time I have to pick a better spot.

Here are some shots from the lot

Here is one that showed up at random, he was driving by and saw all of our cars so he stopped in and hung out with us into the night. 2003 Ford Crown Victoria P71

So later in the evening I was talking to some friends and I see this park on the other end of the parking lot. This guy, who owns a local limo company and apparently has a collection of 25 cars, was rolling through the lot when he saw our meet. He said he also had a marauder and if we waited around for 20 minutes he'd shuffle some cars and bring it back.

He was in a 1982 Eldorado that was all original except for a repaint on the hood

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

So about 40 minutes later, he returns with a black 2004 Marauder, and a 2003+ town car is following him.

Kinja'd!!!

It had 68k on the odo and he said he bought it for 10 grand, which is a really good price for the miles and condition. It was a fully loaded car with the moon roof and heated seats, and it was stock except for the poverty beam HID's and a set of fog/driving lights he added in the bumper.

I believe this town car was a 2003, it could have been newer. It had HID's but I think they were factory, it also had a very very very obnoxiously bright LED light bar in the bumper that wasn't on for this pic

Kinja'd!!!

Oh, and we saw two of these go by during the meet

Kinja'd!!!

All in all, another successful meet. I know we have some panther owners on oppo, so check us out at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , if any of you guys are in the Northeast or Mid Atlantic and want to come to a meet, our next one is going to be at Englishtown's raceway park in November. Although we may have another October meet up. We've had people as far north as Ontario and as far south as Virginia come to our meets.

Neat to see these get a little love. Admittedly I'm only a fan of the Marauder (sure, call me shallow), and looked for one for a while. I feel the used market for these is ridiculous though, too much money for not enough car aside from them being a little rare.

you can find some real shitboxes for 55-6500 range. My car according to KBB is barely worth 12 grand now.

We all know they aren't fast in a straight line but it sure as hell is a great platform to build on. From the factory they run low 15's, I ran a 13.9 with an intake, tune, 4.10's and long tube headers on the factory exhaust.

I didn't buy it for what it was initially, I bought it for what I could make it be.

I'd rather have an LX sport over a P71 to be honest, but thats just how I roll

does that still have the black bit between the rear taillights that so obviously denotes a police interceptor?

I want that.

Hold the phone, there are Panther... haters ?

How could you dislike such a handsome behemoth?

thats like a 5 minute swap. Or if you buy a 2011 LX, it has that stock because the factory ran out of painted trunk panels, so they all got black trunk panels.

Of course, go read the "future classic - mercury marauder" post on jalopnik, tons of people saying its an over weight poor handling piece of shit. Even though a 03 marauder is right on the coat tails of a 05-09 mustang GT in the skidpad, .86G on all season tires.

Fuck em!

Are there a lot of aftermarket bits for those V8s? I'd imagine so.

its 90% the same engine as a mustang, so yes. Panther specific aftermarket parts can cost more than mustang stuff but thats to be expected. We have like 1-3 choices for most things where on a mustang you have over 100 choices for one part.

I never noticed how the front fascia on the Marauder is designed like an SVT Cobra Mustang before, on the top image silver one without the license plate. That is sexy.

Great pictures, and some truly beautiful cars. As the ex owner of a 93 LTC, and a 00 MGM, I have really grown to appreciate the panther platform. Waiting to move back home to Colorado to find a nice Marauder.

your spot on, it was said to be inspired by the 99/01 cobras. The 98 marauder concept had a crown vic front end with a mercury grille

Great Post! I really need to bring my Grand Marquis out east from California so I can come to one of your meets. Lots of upgrade ideas on you website as well. I'm a relatively new panther owner so I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the potential mods. Keep up the good work.

I know the west coast guys do some big meets as well. I believe a lot of them get together at knotts berry farm for the fabulous fords forever show. Check out ADTR.net , my buddy Chris who lives in California runs a panther platform oriented performance store. He also has a 92 crown vic making over 600rwhp. He's been an asset to this community for longer than I've been a part of it.

This thread makes me happy. Those Panthers, so much room inside.
