something about buying someone else's hotrod feels so...weird.

How many other-peoples-rods have you purchased?

Im not into that scene, truthfully, but the concept of it feels strange. No need to take offense, it just seems weird to me that something so personal and unique to the individual gets bought and sold with relative ease.

That's probably because 99% of the time they end up looking bad ass.

I'm not sure if other people care or not, but I have to say I always enjoy these posts.

No offense taken. I was trying to imply that you liked paying for cock.
I did buy someone's hot rod. Well, I traded one project for another. I can understand not purchasing someone's completed project, but I'll end up making mine ... mine.

well the truth is there a lot of people who really dig the culture but will never built their own, so I get that angle, and then there are people who hot rod and see good work and want to get in on a project and make it their own, and I get both. But I still think its weird...like selling a beloved family dog. its the kind of thing you think would only happen under desperate circumstances.

Well thanks. I like posting the cool crap I see on CL. I think we have similar tastes.

I mentioned exactly what you said below. you buy in and make it yours.

I see where you're going with it.
Sometimes it's for necessity, sometimes it's so they can start over. Some of these guys who have the skill set to build/design these beautiful cars just like the process and enjoy the car for a year(or even a month) then off to the next one. It's about the build more than the car for some of them I think.

I wander around on CL through out the day too and send things to friends sometimes and they are like "what the hell were you even searching for?!". It's great.

She's been chopped, and lifted.

HAha, I'll have to start sharing more of them.
Like the 302 V8 Ford Ranger I found this morning for only $3500 bucks. Man that thing was clean.

It seems that the v8 ranger is far less common than the v8 s-10. I saw two this weekend.

This one is really clean too:

Whoa ... they did an engine swap and included a picture of said engine swap? On craigslist?

Shocking isn't it? That's a hell of a machine for $3,500 bucks if you ask me.

Detroit CL, the home of cheap muscle.
Had a guy last week say he might come out here from Wisconsin for a GTO because of how cheap they are out here.
