I'm happy that Formula 1 might possibly be making a return to my home country next year but I'm not quite sure the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is up to the standards for an F1 race even if it is a pretty historic track. The last major event there was a Champ Car race.

Actually, a NASCAR Nationwide race was held there a year later in 2008. It was replaced by CGV in 2009, however.
(The race in Canada was then itself replaced by a round in Mid-Ohio in 2013, much to the chagrin of pretty much everyone, because that Nationwide race at CGV was pretty much the best year in, year out)

If you can't win at football, F1 works, I guess.

True that. I forgot the Nationwide series still raced there in 2008 after Champ Car had disappeared and the Formula BMW series also had their world finals there in 2008
